This is a big week for Prokurio – we’re attending our first conference and recently celebrated our one-year birthday. Given all this, we thought this week we’d take a moment to celebrate how far we’ve come and share a bit about where we are going.
Let’s go!
A Bunch of Thanks
When I started Prokurio, I wanted to operate it as a solo entrepreneur. I wasn’t even sure if I would need a development team – heck, I can (kind of) code. After one week of challenges with AWS and no progress on the product, I knew things had to change. Gustavo and Alessandro joined last November and became our dev team’s backbone. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to both of them.
Nick joined me in late December as a co-founder, and my wife Elodie also joined the fun, which has been invaluable. As other founders will tell you, the journey can be pretty lonely. Our daily discussions help me overcome the tough spots and provide a different perspective. Thanks to Nick, we have flags throughout the application. I hate flags.
It’s a Marathon, not a Sprint
I sometimes get frustrated that we can’t forecast design costs yet and haven’t collected every fee for every country worldwide, but we’ve come a long way in just a year. Our invoice control products can analyze nearly every type of IP cost; we can extract data from PDF invoices, and our forecasting and planning tools are really innovative.
At the beginning of the year, we committed to weekly product releases and have held true to that commitment. This Sunday will mark our 45th straight week of feature updates. I think we stand out in an industry where vendors try to do one or two releases a year.
An Exciting 2024 Coming
In 2023, we built the foundation for a comprehensive IP cost-focused platform, and in 2024, we will deliver a number of solutions that take advantage of that architecture. Portfolio-level financial planning, automated validation of ELM invoices, and integration with practice management and IP management solutions are just a few of the offerings on the horizon. We are also working to integrate public data into the Prokurio platform, enabling you to quickly build family trees and retrieve application information. Frankly, there are so few financial-focused tools for IP firms and owners – the pipeline of ideas is nearly limitless.
A Final Word of Thanks
As we wrap this weekly post up, we want to thank our supporters, clients, and partners who have helped us throughout the year. Your product feedback, LinkedIn comments, and thoughtful ideas mean the world to us and keep us going. We couldn’t have made it through 2023 without your support, and can’t wait to show you what’s coming in 2024!
