Spring has officially sprung, and the last batch of IP conferences are queued up before the Summer break. This week, we take a quick look at several to consider if you have some free time (and some free budget).
Let’s make those reservations!
March 18 to 20th IPBC Europe – Munich, Germany
This conference uniquely focuses on the commercial side of IP, delivering several IP licensing and portfolio planning sessions. With a largely European attendee list, the agenda has several Unitary patent-related sessions – it’s hard to believe the UPC’s 1 year birthday is coming up in June. Time to go shopping for a cake.
May 5 to 9 PIUG Annual Conference – Chicago, USA
PIUG is the only major conference dedicated to patent information professionals. Despite the growth of AI, there are still humans involved in searching, and this conference helps the humans in the loop. Not sure if the conference is for you? If topics like “IPR Estoppel: What Prior Art Can Reasonably Be Found” are exciting for you, this is your conference.
May 6th to 9th CLOC Global Institute – Las Vegas, USA
This is the only non-IP-specific conference on the list, but don’t let that scare you – this conference has plenty for IP teams. This is the largest legal operations-focused conference in the world, delivering insights that will help you improve operational efficiencies and gain control over costs and quality. Plus, it’s in Vegas – what more could you ask for?
May 7th to 8th IP Counsel Café – Palo Alto, USA
This popular conference attracts many heavy hitters from Silicon Valley and is a favorite with Senior Corporate Counsel. This year’s agenda covers a broad spectrum of topics relevant to corporate IP leadership – the impact of AI on IP, leading in uncertain times, and portfolio management and growth strategies.
May 18th to 22nd INTA Annual Conference – Atlanta, USA
The world’s largest trademark-specific conference makes its way to Atlanta this year. This year’s theme is “The Business of Innovation”, which promises to showcase strategies for optimizing the increasingly intertwined relationship between the business and the trademark team. If you are involved with trademarks, this is a must-attend conference.
