Inflation rates are still relatively high globally, making managing patent fees across international treaties like the PCT challenging. Several inflation adjustments covering multiple jurisdictions will take effect in October and November.
If this year is like last year, there will be many small updates until the end-of-year break.

Canadian PCT Updates
Patent Fees Updated Effective November 1:
Annex C – Receiving Office
International Filing Fee
Will increase from 1979 CAD to 2120 CAD
Electronic filing reduction increases from 298 CAD to 319 CAD
- Electronic filing reduction (the request, description, claims, and abstract in character-coded format) increases from 446 CAD to 478 CAD
Annex D – International Searching Authority
Search fee (PCT Rule 16):
Will decrease from 1492 CHF to 1393 CHF (if paid in CHF)
Annex E – International Preliminary Examining Authority
Handling fee
Will increase from 298 CAD to 319 CAD
Egyptian PCT Updates
Patent Fees Updated Effective November 1:

Applications filed in Japanese will increase from 955 USD to 992 USD (if paid in USD)
Applications filed or translated into English will increase from 1129 USD to 1173 USD
Republic of Korea PCT Updates
Patent Fees Updated Effective October 1:
Annex D – International Searching Authority
Search fee (PCT Rule 16):
Applications filed or translated in English will decrease from 1,375 AUD to 1299 AUD (if paid in AUD)
Applications filed or translated into Korean will decrease from 515 AUD to 487 AUD (if paid in AUD)
