Creating an IP cost forecast in IP Forecaster is quick and easy. Dynamic forms give you only the data needed as you move through the interface. IP Forecaster allows you to generate forecasts for Patents, Designs and Trademarks (including the Madrid Protocol).
- You have several options for creating an IP cost forecast. Most clients use the homepage, which we will cover in this article. For more detailed options, check out this article.
- From the homepage, under Create New Forecast, simply click the button for the type of forecast you would like to generate. This will take you directly to the Forecast Request screen for that IP type.
- Once on the Forecast Request screen for your IP Type, simply fill in the fields presented. The form is dynamic for the various IP types and will add/remove any fields based on the jurisdictions selected for your forecast. Note: Required fields will be denoted with an asterisks “*”.
- On the right side of your screen under Settings are various settings options. Examples include cost phase toggles you would like to include, application date, priority date, report currency filing methods, Entity size, application language, etc.
- Upon completion of the fields needed and any settings updates, simply click on the Create Forecast button to be taken to your results.
- You will initially see a high-level summary, but clicking on the arrow by the country and phases allows you to expand those sections for more detail.
- If you need to make changes, simply click on the Edit button at the bottom to be taken back to the parameters screen.
- If you want to do a new cost estimate, simply click on the New button to start over.
- Any Forecast can be saved for later review as well as exported and/or emailed as a PDF, Word document or Excel spreadsheet.
